Black and Decker manufacturers the bit set in China for Black and Decker and DeWalt labeled bit sets. I venture to say that all bit sets are probably made in the same factory in China so buy the cheapest set, because even the pricey ones don’t last that long.

THis was good for the price, the only problem I have had with it is the hand held ratchet broke after two times of use, but I have a craftsman one to use so no big deal.

I was building my own entertainment center and just needed screwdriver bits and the countersink bit for the most part. I looked at high quality bit sets but I’m not a carpenter and would never make up the cost of those sets for the amount I will use a set like this. So it’s not the best quality you can get but to have a wide variety of bits for small jobs around the house you can’t beat the price.

This is an okay buy for the price. I should emphasize you get what you pay for. The quality is not terrible B&D could do much better. But for the price you can’t do too much worse.

5+ star bits, but the case is feral

I’ve had this set for several years now, picked up on a trip to America, and I’ve found it so useful for both my American products I brought over, and the Australian products I’ve purchased here. It’s also great for around the house DIY stuff. The only drawback is the absolutely feral case, that has broken two small drill bits trying to pry them out, and makes it really miserable if you need different sizes for a single job. The frustrating case makes this a 3 star, but the set itself is just fine. You do get duplicates, but given that screwdriver bits this inexpensive will wear over time, or get lost in the midst of a job, and you’ll be thankful you have the duplicates.

I have owned this set for several years. I bought it on a whim since it had so many sizes and kinds of bits and accessories I figured it would come in handy and save me a few trips to the store later on. It has paid for itself in both those regards. When I’m going into a DIY project and don’t know what I’ll need this is a good set to through in “just in case.” Also, it has most of the odd-ball items (torx, spline, square, etc.) that have become very common, even in the home. The down side is that the quality deserves a one-star rating. I’ve had numerous bits snap off or shatter doing relatively light work. This set is certainly not for any serious job, but no surprises there. Overall, good set to have around and worth the money. That said, I’d be willing to pay a pretty health ransom for a higher quality set with the same diversity.

If you’re not sure how to properly size your bit to a screw head and keep rounding off the bits or screw heads, you’re better served by hiring a qualified individual. Otherwise, this is a great, inexpensive set. The #1, 2, and 3 philips fit those screw heads properly, and the various others suit their jobs with aplumb. I might not use these bits on the job every single day if you’re a contractor, but they are great around the house when you want a large variety of bits all in one case.
